Administrative Assistant
Special Education
12 month position
The Montgomery County School Board, Virginia, is now accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant position in our Special Education department. The individual will provide administrative support to the Special Education department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of modern professional office workflow
- Computer literate, proficient in Microsoft Office including EXCEL, WORD, and PowerPoint
- Functional knowledge of accounting practices, budget facilitation, purchasing, and financial reporting
- Functional knowledge of commonly used office equipment and work-flow technologies
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain an unquestionable degree of confidentiality
- Ability to multitask, work with interruptions, and work under pressure
- Ability to be dependable and punctual
- Ability to work with staff, parents, and students
- Ability to prioritize and self-direct, analyze situations and make decisions.
- Ability to adapt to change quickly and multi-task.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in a school system
- Experience in integrated software systems
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be found appropriate and acceptable to meet the requirements of the specific assignment
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides administrative support to the special education department
- Performs general office duties
- Deals with department heads, school personnel, and community members
- Maintains appropriate general office files and records
- Collects information for various reports.
- Other duties as assigned and appropriate for specific Administrative Assistant position
Salary: $31,200.00 = $60,373.34 annually, with benefits; commensurate with experience
