Montgomery County Public Schools has openings and is accepting applications for a Marching Band Assistant at Auburn High School for the 2024-2025 school year.

 

The marching band assistant is a staff position that supports all aspects of the marching band director's duties and responsibilities. The key responsibility of the assistant will be to work as part of a team to prepare high school instrumental music students for the marching band season. The marching band assistant will engage in activities that develop student abilities in marching so that they are well prepared for pre-game shows, half-time shows and community outreach (i.e. parades, festivals and special events).  The marching band assistant will collaborate with the director to schedule band practices and sectional rehearsals during the summer, and support the mastery of reading and performing music while marching in tempo. Those practices or camps may begin as early

as June through August.  Travel within the district and surrounding communities is a requirement.
