Instructional Coach – Reading/Math Elementary 

School Year 2024-2025

 

The Montgomery County School Board, Virginia, is now accepting applications for an Instructional Coach – Reading/Math elementary - position that is available for the 2024-2025 school year.  This is a 10.5 month position.

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

The Instructional Coach for Reading/Math works with administrators, teachers, and other school staff to develop, refine, and demonstrate evidenced-based lessons correlated to the SOLs to support the regular classroom teachers’ efforts. The Instructional Coach also works to provide coaching support centered on the SOLs in the areas of balanced literacy and math.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teacher’s License with appropriate endorsement to teach Reading/Math at the elementary level
• Have experience in curriculum development and developing lesson plans
• Have experience effectively co-teaching and/or collaborating with peers
• Have experience and expertise in using technology in education to provide instruction
• Experience or have working familiarity with Google Drive for instruction, collaboration and course work
• Experience in fostering an inclusive learning environment
• Have effective written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with parents and families
• Must be dependable and punctual

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience as a Reading/Math Specialist at the elementary level
• Previous experience as an elementary teacher
• Previous experience modeling and implementing effective instructional strategies
• Previous experience with using the interpretation of classroom data to inform instruction
• Previous experience developing and providing professional development
