The Montgomery County School Board in Virginia is now accepting applications for an Assistant Principal at Christiansburg Middle School for the 2023-2024 school year.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To assist the school principal in overall administration of instructional programs and campus level operations and to assist the school principal in the planning, coordination, and directing of activities and programs related to the administration of the school.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Successful experience planning and implementing instructional initiative
- Experience with state and federal requirements including the Virginia Standards of Learning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of the importance of school accreditation and ability to work with parents and staff as a team to achieve the standard
- Record of success in establishing an effective learning environment and maintaining high standards of student conduct
- Have experience and expertise in using technology in education and administration
- A collaborative leadership style
- Have experience in fostering an inclusive learning environment
- Have experience or working familiarity with Google Drive for instruction, collaboration and course work
- Have effective written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with parents and families
- Ability to be dependable and punctual
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from an accredited institution
- Post Graduate Professional license with administration and supervision endorsement required
- Hold or immediately be eligible for a Virginia license with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision: PreK-12
- Three years of successful experience as a teacher or certified employee working with K-12 public school students
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience at the middle school level
SALARY: $71,769.57 - $126,209.16 SY 2023-2024
12-Month Professional salary scale (commensurate with experience) with benefits.
Salary pro-rated to start date. Salary established by the School Board.
