Custodian
Full-Time, Evening Shift
Montgomery County Public Schools is accepting applications for a full-time, evening shift custodian position that is available at Falling Branch Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The custodian performs routine manual labor associated with the daily cleaning of buildings. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, dust mopping, sweeping, wet mopping, vacuuming, dusting, waxing, removing trash, cleaning bathrooms, and polishing furniture.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent, or passing score on the literacy test given by MCPS
- Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate physical strength
- Ability to read basic operating instructions
- Ability to cooperate with other staff members
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment
- Ability to respond to emergencies in support of students and school operations
- Have the physical ability to repeatedly lift heavy objects (40+ lbs.) as needed
- Dependability and punctuality
- Ability to support school functions and community activities as deemed necessary
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment
- Previous custodial experience
- Ability to use a computer and input data
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Salary: $31,306.53 - $48,734.36 annually, with benefits; commensurate with experience and pro-rated to start date
