Are you a passionate and innovative leader with a deep commitment to literacy education? Montgomery County Public Schools in Southwest Virginia seeks a collaborative and supportive Administrator of English Language Arts Curriculum & Reading Intervention to empower our teachers and inspire a lifelong love of learning in our students. The leader in this position will plan, implement, direct, and maintain the MCPS PreK-12 English Language Arts programs as well as oversee and provide recommendations for the development of the curriculum regarding Reading Intervention.
LICENSURE:
- Hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision PreK-12, Secondary or Middle School
- Reading Specialist or English endorsement
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree or higher in School Administration or Curriculum and Instruction from an accredited college or university
- Minimum – five years of teaching experience in English/Language Arts or Reading
- Excellent collaboration skills
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Strong professional, interpersonal, and communication skills for working effectively with school personnel and members of the community
- Experience in developing and implementing curriculum
- Experience in developing and providing engaging professional development
- Deep understanding of English/Language Arts curriculum, instruction, and assessment, including knowledge of current research and best practices in literacy education
- Experience with data analysis and using data to inform instruction and improve student outcomes
- Proven ability to create a supportive and culturally responsive learning environment for all students
- Familiarity with state and national standards for English/Language Arts and the Virginia Literacy Act
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three years of administrative experience
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
COMPENSATION: $77,241.99 - $139,145.59 annually; with benefits; commensurate with experience and pro-rated to start date
