PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To develop and implement an instructional program that will effectively provide the best possible education for each student.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teacher’s License with appropriate endorsement in area to which assigned
  • Have knowledge of medical aspects of disabilities and their implications for instruction
  • Have knowledge of resources and techniques needed to integrate special education students into the least restrictive environment
  • Have experience in curriculum development and developing lesson plans
  • Have experience and expertise in using technology in education
  • Have experience in fostering an inclusive learning environment
  • Have experience or working familiarity with Google Drive for instruction, collaboration and course work
  • Have effective written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with parents and families
  • Demonstrate the ability to work and collaborate with a team of other teachers
  • Ability to be dependable and punctual

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experienced or have working familiarity with virtual education

SALARY:  $50,072.26 - $83,120.04 annually (plus $1,500 stipend), with benefits; commensurate with experience and pro-rated to start date

 

FLSA Status: Exempt
