The Montgomery County School Board, Virginia, is now accepting applications for a Bookkeeper position that is available at Blacksburg Middle School. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bookkeeping/accounting experience (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of office terminology, procedures, and equipment
  • Working knowledge of governmental purchasing processes
  • Working knowledge of modern professional office workflow
  • Ability to perform basic research and prepare reports
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Notary Public
  • Support school office functions as determined by supervisor
  • Ability to be dependable and punctual

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business Administration, Communications, or related field or equivalent education and/or experience in secretarial with administrative office skills
  • A minimum of five years combined experience with administrative office fields
  • Functional knowledge of commonly used office equipment and work-flow technologies
  • Experience in integrated software systems and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be found appropriate and acceptable

SALARY:  $$31,200.00 - $60,373.34 annually, with benefits; commensurate with experience
