Paraprofessionals - Site-Based - Speech

The Montgomery County School Board, Virginia, is now accepting applications for Special Education Paraprofessional positions for assistance with speech services at various locations within the division for the 2024-2025 school year.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The speech paraprofessional assists teachers in integrating special education students into the regular classroom as much as possible to allow students to achieve their maximum academic and social potential. The speech paraprofessionals will assist teletherapists contracted with the division in delivering speech services to students with disabilities by assisting the teletherapist with working on goals and objectives as outlined in a student's IEP.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successful completion of at least 48 semester hours of college from an accredited college or university or a passing score on the Para-Professional Assessment Exam
- Possess strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Possess effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to learn to operate and maintain a wide variety of instructional equipment
- Possess the personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, teachers, and parents
- Possess an interest and ability in working with special education students
- Dependability and punctuality required
- Experience in fostering an inclusive learning environment
