Mathematics Instructional Coach 

School Year 2024-2025 

10.5 Month Position 

The Montgomery County School Board, Virginia, is now accepting applications for a Mathematics Instructional Coach, 10.5 month (220 days) position that is available for the 2024-2025 school year.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of the Administrator of Mathematics and school principal(s), the Mathematics Instructional Coach will support secondary teachers with planning, instruction, and assessment to improve student achievement in mathematics. Duties include co-planning and co-teaching; data analysis; monitoring student progress; designing and implementing instructional interventions; providing and supporting job-embedded professional development; and collaborating with building administrators to support school and district initiatives. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Five years of successful mathematics classroom teaching experience at the secondary level 
• Strong understanding of mathematics content and pedagogy
• Endorsement in Middle School Mathematics, Mathematics, or a Mathematics Specialist endorsement 
• Experience in the use of evidence-based instructional and assessment strategies
• Experience in analyzing data to inform instruction
• Experience in fostering an inclusive learning environment 
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to maintain an unquestionable degree of confidentiality
• Ability to multitask, work with interruptions, and work under pressure
• Ability to be dependable and punctual

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Experience with instructional coaching 
• Experience developing and providing professional development
• Ability to model effective strategies for Tier I, II, and III instruction
• Master’s degree in Mathematics or Curriculum and Instruction 
• Full Mathematics endorsement preferred

Salary: $51,293.54 - $82,798.10 annually, with benefits (salary may change due to 2024-2025 budget considerations)
