MCPS is seeking applicants for Elementary Summer Academy teaching positions.  This posting is for external applicants only. Current MCPS employees do not need to apply.  To be considered for a position, substitute teachers must hold a current Virginia Teaching License.  For student teachers to be considered for a position, you must provide a letter of program completion from your institution of higher education.  Placement will be determined by student need.

Salary:  $40.00 per hour

Closing Date: Open until filled

Locations: Elementary Summer Academies will be held at each MCPS Elementary School. 

Dates and Times:

May 28 - July 3 (Monday – Thursday)

Student Hours:  8:15 AM - 2:25 PM

Teacher Hours:  8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

*Teachers will get a “work day” to set up their rooms and plan for summer academy.
